What did I do Right?

The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Proverbs 24.16 NLT

Does it seem to you that there is a lot of focus on what is wrong in our world? We are constantly bombarded by who did what wrong. The Democrats tell us what the Republicans did wrong and vice versa. The sports commentator will tells us what the players and coaches did wrong during the game. The church will tell us what is wrong with the world today. And, when a kid takes a test in school he is informed by his teacher how many he got wrong on his test. To me it just looks like we focus too much on the wrong.

Here is the truth; yeah you may have gotten something’s wrong, but you also got some things right! Even the kid who scored 63 on his history test got 37 right! If you focus on what is wrong you will constantly be doing wrong. It is a proven fact that our focus will determine our direction. By focusing on the wrong, even if we are attempting to do better, the wrong becomes our focus. And, guess what? We repeat the wrong.

Proverbs 24.16 tells us to keep focusing on the right things we do. Will this guarantee we will never trip up again? No. The whole idea of achieving flawless perfection is ridiculous. But what it does mean is if we keep our focus on doing the right things, we will get better at doing the right. This principle can be applied to every area of your life to help you achieve the goals your desire.
God Bless!
