It’s the Law Part 5–The Law of Belief

The Little Engine“All things are possible to those who believe”

“I think I can” said the little engine in response to a request to pull a long train over the mountain. The request had been given to other bigger engines who could ave easily pulled the train over the mountain.  but they refused.  So, the task was offered to the little engine.

The little engine was designed for station yard work such as pulling a few cars on and off the switches.  He was not designed to pull heavy burdensome loads for great distances or up steep inclines.  But when the larger engines refused to pull a monstrous load up and over the mountain–because they did not believe they could–the little engine stepped up volunteered. The train was attached to the tiny engine and he began the journey to the huge mountain that was before him.

The burden of the weight was in itself a strain on the small engine.  And, when he reached the incline and began the long climb to the top, the enormity of the load started to weigh on him.  So, he reaches inside of himself and begins what is probably one of the most well known mantras in the world–“I think I can.”  Pulling and puffing the little engine keep saying, “I think I can.  I think I can.  I think I can.  Very slowly and gradually he inches his way to the top, till finally, he succeed in his task.

This is a great story in teaching children the power of optimism.  It underscores the universal law of belief.  That is whatever you believe with feeling becomes your reality.  Whatever your belief system supports you become. if you believe with feeling that you will become a failure–you will.  But, if you believe with feeling that you will become a success–you will!  You will become and accomplish only what you BELIEVE you will.

Jesus said “For assuredly, I say to you, says to this mountain,’be removed and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:23) NKJV.

I do not feel Jesus was teaching us how to literally move mountians. That is just an absurd fantasy.  He was teaching us the universal law of belief. That the key to living the life of success, joy and happiness we were created to live is believing that we can!

Your success or your failure is in your hands.  You have the power to create the life you want to live.  It is simply a matter of believing that you can!  Do what the little engine did.  Just keep telling yoursefl that you can and believe it and you will have it!
