The Least of These….

Many will be giving something up during Lent. Some will give up things that could very well wreck their lives in an attempt to improve the quality of their life. Others will be giving up something trivial. I call upon individuals to give something up this Lenten season that can make a difference in someone’s life—your time, talent and treasure to help the less fortunate.

Can you give up a few hours to volunteer at a local charity? Can you give your skills to help repair someone’s home? Can you give a donation, no matter how small to help feed, clothe and provide shelter to the needy? Can you at least give a few bucks to the guy holding the cardboard sign on your way to work? If everyone gives up just a little we can make a whole lot of difference in our world. And, remember the words of Jesus—“…Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me” (Matthew 24.50 NKJV)
